Car Donation NV Donate Car to Help Many Causes
No Hassle with a Nevada Car Donation Online
When it comes time to get rid of an old car or boat that is no longer of
any use, Nevada residents will find they have a wealth of options.
Though selling a vehicle is usually the first thing that comes to mind,
the second thing that comes to mind is the expense in time and money to
get the vehicle sold. Making a car donation to our charity is not only
convenient but helpful to many different people in many different ways.
One is able to have their car or boat removed for free by our charity
whether they live in Las Vegas or Kingsbury.
Charity Vehicle Checklist
Charities that take car donations can be found quite easily. Just make
sure that you check out the charity thoroughly before turning over your
car to them. You want to make sure you are making a car donation to a
charity that uses 100% of the money that they receive for your car to
help other people. You can be sure when you donate with us that this is
the case. Sadly, there are some charities that do not do this. Instead,
a good portion of the money goes for advertising in order to accumulate
yet more car donations, or even to meet the payroll for the charity –
not to help those in need.
While many charities have their own guidelines, it is not necessary that
a car be in running shape in order to be donated to our charity. As long
as the car still has an engine and the ability to be towed in a
reasonable manner, the donation will be considered acceptable. The same
is true for those who want to donate boat or boat like watercraft. The
usual method is that once an individual has made contact with a charity
to donate their vehicle, no matter where the charity is actually
located, a nearby towing company is usually contacted for pickup. This
allows charities to pick up contributions anywhere in the country as our
charity does.
Many charities allow one to donate car or car like vehicles as long as
they have a title. When you donate with us, that is the case. In Nevada,
the only vehicles that do not require a title are mopeds and
snowmobiles. Without a clear transfer of the title, the vehicle cannot
be sold by our charity for profit. This can cause a snag for those
expecting to use the donation as a deduction on next year's taxes. To
get a replacement title, one can simply contact their local Department
of Motor Vehicles for the correct title replacement procedure. As this
procedure is usually looked over by the state, the replacement procedure
should be the same whether one is a resident of Crystal Bay or Mount
Charleston.
Those who donate vehicle property to our charity will be given a receipt
at the time of the donation. Without it, one will not be able to take a
tax deduction on a donated vehicle or boat. However, if one does not
plan on using the donation as a tax deduction there is no requirement to
do so. In general, the IRS Form 1098-C is used as proof of donation and
as a statement of gross amount of proceeds from the vehicle's sale.
